A former Young Rider champion in his native New Zealand, Sharn Wordley went on to become one of the top 50 ranked show jumping riders in the world. He has represented New Zealand at the highest level of the sport, including at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games™, and numerous Nations’ Cup team competitions. He has competed in 22 countries at some of the world’s most prestigious shows, such as CSIO5* Rome, Italy; CSIO5* Lummen, Belgium; CSIO5* Hickstead, England, and many others. In 2004, Sharn moved to the United States where he has consistently been at the top of the podium in grand prix competition. Sharn has also coached several athletes who have represented their countries in major games and World Cup Final competition.

In addition to his career as a successful rider and trainer, Sharn is proud of keeping his horses fit and healthy well into their late teens and even early twenties, including such notable mounts as Gatsby and Mr. Flannigan. He credits their longevity to riding on a Wordley Martin surface daily.
