Featured Client: Melissa Wanstreet and Starbound Equine Services

Starbound Equine Services, located in Loxahatchee, is owned and managed by Melissa Wanstreet, who for the past 2 decades has specialized in starting young horses for dressage, the hunters and show jumping. Her previous professional career has included working for LWF Sporthorses, a breeding farm in Michigan, where she managed their beautiful 54 acre farm while managing the young horse training program.  From 2007 to 2012, she developed their horses from foal to the competition ring – before moving to Florida to start Starbound Equine Services.

In recent years, Melissa’s focus has turned to dressage and starting young horses properly – giving them a strong foundation for multiple disciplines. She purchased her property in Loxahatchee in April of 2018, and Wordley Martin began their work on site development for the 50’ round pen and the 70′ x 200′ covered arena with GGT surface in November of last year. The project was fully completed in January of 2019 – just in time for the winter competition season!

We did visit Melissa right after the project completion this January in order to take some photos of her training Belle at home. We’re thrilled that she’s happy with the end result, and we would encourage local equestrians to go visit Starbound Equine Services for the opportunity to train with Melissa in Florida on a year round basis.

Many thanks to Melissa for taking the time out of her busy day to pull together this recent training ride at home on her Wordley Martin Surface.  We wish Melissa the best of luck this spring and summer competing at with her clients and horses at the Gold Coast Dressage shows at Global Dressage in Wellington!
