It was a highly successful weekend for Sharn and his two horses at Live Oak International in Ocala. He’s been on a hot streak in Ocala, and his top results continued throughout this past weekend.
Sharn rode his own Gatsby, a grey ISH stallion, to 8th place in the $10K Waldron Private Wealth 1.40m and to a 4th place finish in the $35K Longines World Ranking 1.50m on Saturday. Aboard the Sky Group’s Casper, he ended his impressive weekend in the final press conference, taking 3rd in the grand finale of the weekend, the $100,000 LONGINES FEI Jumping World Cup!
The final grand prix of the weekend did challenge the field of 38 riders, with ultimately 6 advancing the the jump off. Young US rider Brian Moggre moved up to this level of competition with an impressive win, followed by Andre Thieme of Germany and then Sharn aboard Casper. It was a fantastic end to one of the best competitions in the country, with Live Oak hosting both FEI level show jumping and combined driving at their gorgeous Live Oak Stud!
We hope you enjoy our interview with Sharn following the competition and our collection of photos from throughout the weekend. There were several Wordley Martin clients who also competed in the Longines World Cup on Sunday, and we’ve included them in our photo album as well – Scott Keach, Brianne Goutal-Marteau, Schuyler Riley and Anna Christina Gansauer. Many thanks to the Weber family for organizing such a fantastic event and to all the sponsors and Live Oak volunteers who make this a highlight of the winter competition season. Till next year!!
