The Ocala Horse Properties Eventing Prix was conceived by Olympic Event Rider and Show Jumper, Scott Keach, as an opportunity for upper-level event riders to gain competition experience in a pressurized atmosphere, similar to the Nation’s Cup team format. The show attracts event riders from the U.S.A., Canada, England, Australia and New Zealand, although each year only 4 countries can be represented.
Wordley Martin Equestrian proudly returns as the official footing sponsor of the Eventing Prix, having designed and constructed the ring at Southern Cross Equestrian in 2012.
This prestigious competition takes place the Monday and Tuesday before the Red Hills Horse Trials, creating a must-attend calendar week in Florida for elite international event riders. The team at Ocala Horse Properties has been the title sponsor each year due in part to their loyalty and interest in the sport of eventing, but also due to the communal energy at this event. Matt Varney always looks forward to this yearly competition, stating “The Eventing Prix is quite simply one of our favorite events every year. The atmosphere is fantastic because it caters to any type of spectator and the show is so well run by Max & Scott. Everyone should be putting this event on their social calendar.”
Wordley Martin joins them with the same enthusiasm for this annual competition. We have a long time relationship with Scott Keach and Max Corcoran, and our hats our off to them on the continued growth of this event each year.
Highlights of the 2016 Ocala Horse Properties’ Eventing Prix
