What a solid accomplishment for Sharn and (the Sky Group’s) Casper who finished 2nd this past weekend at the $380,000 Douglas Elliman Grand Prix CSI 5*, held under the lights at WEF! Sharn has had the ride on Casper for the past year, and this was their first 5* together under the lights. Sharn’s strategy was to run clean and not to press the time, hoping that others would have rails. Clearly that was a brilliant strategy, as they came in second to Ireland’s Richie Moloney and Equinimity LLC’s Carrabis Z, who have been on fire in recent months, winning 3 or their past 6 Grand Prix.
There were a solid number of 42 entries in the 5* with 8 returning for the jump off over the tough Alan Wade course that actually saw several eliminations and retirements throughout the evening. With a year together in their partnership Sharn and Casper are truly hitting their rhythm, now cracking the top 100 Longines World Rankings with this last impressive finish.
“I have had him since end of circuit last year and this was his first five-star,” Wordley detailed. “I was really happy with him – he was double clear in the WEF (Challenge Cup) on Thursday and he got better as the week went through. He learned a lot here, and he is jumping fantastic. I am really excited about him.”

This upcoming weekend Sharn plans to compete Barnetta in the 3* and the following weekend Casper will be back in the Grand Prix ring for the HITS Million (both horses are owned by The Sky Group).
