There was a fine showing of Wordley Martin clients at the 5th annual Plantation Field International CIC, held in Unionville, Pa. Several of our top eventing clients (Karen O’Connor, Will Coleman and Phillip Dutton) were in attendance and rode multiple horses in both the national and international CIC divisions, joining the top 10 victory gallop in each of these divisions. COMPLETE RESULTS
The event is held each year on the property of Cuyler and Katie Walker, adjacent to the famed Cheshire Foxhounds kennels, so the views of the adjacent preserved fox hunting territory is just breathtaking. The Walkers, Dennis Glaccum (event founder), committee members and volunteers worked tirelessly to promote and expand this year’s festivities. Not only did the event feature some of the best riders in the country, it was also host to an expansive vendors village, which attracted top industry companies and local artisans, clothing designers, tack shops and saddle makers. In the evening there were some great parties featuring a mechanical bull riding contest on Friday and a fabulous cocktail party at the Walker’s house on Saturday night.
Aside from the amazing XC country course action on Saturday, Sunday featured the stadium competition for all the CIC riders and plenty of intermission entertainment, such as full medieval Jousting and the popular 2nd annual Bareback Puissance high jump contest.
Long time Wordley Martin client, Kevin Babington, was also at the event to commentate the show jumping on Sunday and to show case his new line of Bed Edge bedding and Pure Feed products through Babington Mills! Kevin is not only a world class Olympic horseman, but also a forward thinking businessman who is bring his line of environmentally safe products to the equestrian industry, and we wish him good luck!!
Please enjoy our sample of photos from the event, and we wish all of our Wordley Martin clients continued success during the 2012 competition season! PLANTATION PHOTO SLIDESHOW
